Canon imagePROGRAF PRO-1100 Initial Thoughts (Podcast 843)

Last week, I bought a Canon imagePROGRAF PRO-1100 printer, the smallest in Canon’s latest large-format printer lineup. I had to dispose of my 44″ roll printer, the PRO-4000, when I moved to our new house this year, and I went without a printer for six months as I didn’t want to invest in the PRO-1000. I wasn’t about to invest in eight-year-old tech and hoped that Canon was working on something new. I didn’t have my antenna up, being busy with other things, but I had a job coming up that required a printer. I also don’t like not being able to print my work as I complete shoots, so I looked online and found that the PRO-1100 had been released around a month ago, so I placed my order.

I started creating a video to show my first few prints to see how this new printer shaped up, and I recorded most of my work with my iPhone. It’s rough around the edges, but I show how easy it is now to get great prints. I have also continued to print other images, and I love this printer despite it being such a drop in size compared to my PRO-4000.

I’ll follow up with some additional thoughts soon, but for now, please check out my initial thoughts video.
