Fushimi Turret and Spectacles Bridge

The white castle turret in the top right was original part of the Fushimi Castle in Kyoto, but was dismantled and then rebuild in Tokyo, in the grounds of the Emperor’s Palace.

The bridge in the foreground is affectionately known as Meganebashi, or Spectacles Bridge. The bridge that you can just see behind that used to be a double-decker bridge called Nijuubashi, but the one we see now replaces the original wooden bridge.

Apparently there are two swans in each moat section around the palace.

I heard all of this from the friendly policeman in the police box to the right of where I shot this image from.
