David duChemin on His Underwater Photography (Podcast 535)

David duChemin on His Underwater Photography (Podcast 535)

I recently had the pleasure of sitting down for a chat with my friend, photographer David duChemin, briefly about the new edition of his best selling book Within The Frame, and then about his beautiful recent underwater photography.

As this conversation wasn’t scripted, there is no manuscript for today’s episode, so please listen with the above audio player, and follow along with the photos below.

If you’d like to pick up a copy of David’s new edition of Within the Frame, you can find it on Amazon here.

Published My Canon EOS 5Ds R Settings

Although totally unrelated to this post, I wanted to quickly mention that last week I published my Canon EOS 5Ds R settings on the blog, for those of you that are interested. I have been asked to share my settings a number of times, to help get people up and running quickly with the camera, so I thought I’d share what I consider to be my most important customizations.

You can check out the settings here: https://mbp.ac/5dsrsettings

Interview with Underwater Photographer Shawn Miller (Podcast 347)

Interview with Underwater Photographer Shawn Miller (Podcast 347)

While in Okinawa for the first in my series of Pixels 2 Pigment workshops, I had the pleasure to meet Shawn Miller, a participant of the workshop, and incredibly talented Underwater Photographer. A few days after the workshop, Shawn agreed to let me interview him for the Podcast, and shared a lot of useful information, tips and tricks for anyone interested in underwater photography.

There are also download and subscription links at the end of the post.

During the workshop, Shawn created a Breathing Color Gallery Wrap of one of his Clown Fish photos, that we’ll look at later. The photo was incredible, and as I have zero experience with this kind of photography, this was a great opportunity to widen the range of the MBP Podcast.

This interview was totally unscripted, so there is no manuscript for today’s episode, but here are the photos that we discuss during the interview, starting with a quick photo of Shawn’s underwater housing and strobes etc.
